Andiroba becomes darker after finish is applied and has had time to age. The grain is usually straight. Used for furniture and cabinet work, flooring, joinery, millwork, and veneer. Comparable to mahogany in weathering properties. Can be worked with machine and hand tool, to avoid splitting when nailed predrill, glues and screws well. It is also know as Royal Mahogany.
