Random width Purpleheart is available in either S2S (surfaced 2 sides) or S3S (surfaced 3 sides). Sold by the board foot, you can find Purpleheart from 4" - 14" wide and 6’ to 14' long. It is available in the following sizes and grades:

    Purpleheart oxidizies to a bright purple color when freshly cut. As it ages the Purpleheart will then change to a deep mahogany color. When finished after the piece has aged to the mahogany brown color, sunlight slightly pulls out some of the purple hues. Purpleheart is very hard and will do well outdoors with finish. Pre-drilling is required for any fastening and for the very best finish cuts use a sharp blade or router bit.
