  • 8/4 Hit and Missed to 1-15/16" thick 
  • 12/4 Full Rough to 3" thick
  • 16/4 Full Rough to 4" thick 


Basswood is an ideal wood for many woodcarvers. Basswood is great for beginners to learn on as well as master carvers doing very detailed 3D models.  You can use either hand tools or power tools to carve basswood.  It's soft, fine, even texture makes it easy to work with, while it's pale, inconspicuous color doesn’t detract from the carved patterns of the finished product which also makes it easier to paint or stain. Basswood​ is also a great wood for laser cutting and engraving.
