White Oak is a classic hardwood. It's been used for making just about any type of furniture project. Great for hardwood flooring, trim work, and of course, cabinets. Stains, glues, and finishes very easily.
FAS (First and Seconds) grade tends to have wider pieces / longer lengths on average. Overall, a nice grade, fairly clean. Common grade White Oak will be narrower / shorter pieces. Common grade also allows for more knots and wane on the edges of the board. Quartered White Oak - is cut so the grain is straight and runs the length of the board. Quartered cut also reveals more flake, a type of figure, than is common in oak. You still get the White Oak color and hardness, but the overall look is different. Quatersawn cut tends to be more stable Rift White Oak - is cut so the grain is straight and runs the length of the board. Rift cut removes the flake, a type of figure that is common in oak.
